The long awaited Halo 3 TV ad finally aired a few days ago and already it’s sparked a few rumours and remixes. To start off, I’m just going to post the original in all it’s existential glory. Check after the break for a remix and rumours.

All it all, it’s looking good. The appearance of the female Spartan in the ad is quite interesting and will hopefully lead to the addition of a playable female Spartan in Halo 3. Or of course, given the number of rumours surrounding this it could be something even cooler. There’s no doubt that Halo 3 will be one of the legendary ‘Killer Apps’, joining games such as Doom, Half-Life and Halo 2.
Despite the hype for Halo 3, some gamers just arn’t happy with the ad. They want more. They want Halo and Gears of War to have a bastardised love child together. Que the Mad World/Halo 3 remix.

Finally, it wouldn’t be a highly anticipated shooter without a few conspiracy rumours and the main one connected to the Halo 3 ad is that you can apparently see the face of John Spartan (AKA Master-Chief) reflected in his helmet when he reaches to put it on. The Xbox Domain have a decent screen shot from the ad, with the ‘face’ and I’m not quite convinced. I think we will find a few interesting plot twists in Halo 3, but I’m also pretty sure Bungie are going play the cards close to their chest for a while yet.
